The clerk pays the township's bills, is the record keeper and election manager for the township as well as a voting member of the board. The following is a list of duties as required by law:
- Maintains all township records unless otherwise provided
- Maintain general ledger of accounts
- Records, maintains and publishes township meeting minutes
- Keeps the township book of oaths
- Responsible for special meeting notices
- Keeps voter registration file and conducts elections
- Keeps township ordinance book
- Maintains complaint book
